Birches Head High School week 4 & 5

A fab and very busy two weeks back at BHHS after the break. We have launched the ICE radio station which had immediate success with the pupils. Over the next few weeks we plan to train up a number of pupils and teachers to manage and run the radio station, this will include DJ’s, hosts, producers and researchers. We have also been continuing with our CPD work with the science teachers, plus generally being around to help other teachers make the most out of the technology in the school. We get shortlisted for IC Tomorrow competition

We’re very pleased to announce we have been shortlisted in a funding competition. This competition call was IC Tomorrow looking for digital innovation in music. Working in collaboration with Staffordshire University we have proposed building a prototype service that allows the band to engages live audiences in unique time and location specific manner. If successful bITjAM will develop a mobile friendly digital service that enables a much more personal interaction between bands and audiences. Unlocking digital learning potential in schools

We welcomed the Decoding Learning report by Nesta on the unused technologies in schools. We agree there’s been a significant amount of investment in the technology however a deficit in training and project ideas. As a company we have developed a range of services focused on unlocking the learning potential schools have through digital technology and therefore improving the creative potential of young people. We are currently working with Birches head high school delivering a number of inter related digital projects. bITjAM invited to apply for Nesta R&D Fund for the Arts

We are delighted to announce we’ve been invited to complete a full application for NESTA’s Digital R&D Fund For The Arts after a successful expression of interest was submitted in October 2012 with our collaboration partners Writing West Midlands. Writing West Midlands is the region’s literature development agency supporting creative writers and creative writing activity. They are responsible for public literature activity such as the popular series Tell Me On A Sunday (with Ikon Gallery) and the Birmingham Book Festival.
